This beautiful trek is popular for very goodreasons, the scenery is stunning, and so are the people you’ll meet. In winter, the trails are quiet, the surrounding peaks are snow-capped and the skies are the deepest blue. See Sagarmatha in her winter coat then fly back to Kathmandu for unforgettablenew year celebrations in this iconic city.

This journey begins in vibrant Kathmandu, where you have time to explore the city's amazing temples, and the crazy world of Thamel with its bright shops selling outdoor equipment and shiny souvenirs, and full of bustling night life.

From there, we travel to the famous Lukla Airport in a hair raising flight, with spectacular views as we pass through the mountains. We meet our porter team in Lukla and after a quick snack we're on our way, trekking to the pretty village of Jorsalle. The next morning we make our way over the famous Hillary Bridge then up Namche Hill, and into Namche itself. This is the Sherpa Capital and full of colour and life as trekkers pass through. Two nights here give us an opportunity for acclimatisation. Views of Everest can be seen from the top of the town!

From Namche the views get ever more spectacular - The iconic Ama Dablam is our companion for the next few days. Our next stop is Tengboche Monastery - a beautiful Tibetan Buddhist Monastery which is well worth a visit.
The next day we make our way to Dingboche, where the terrain changes as we climb above the tree-line. Another rest day at Dingboche gives the opportunity for a walk to the viewpoint before an afternoon resting and coffee and cake in one of the many excellent coffee shops.

We continue to climb and spend the next night just beyond Lobuche in the Italian Pyramid - a research centre nestled in the mountains. Our last day climbing takes us over the Khumbu glacier to Gorak Shep where we have lunch before climbing Kala Pattar to see sun set and Everest for our CHristmas celebration.
The next morning an early start takes us to Everest Base Camp, before we start our descent to Pheriche, then the next day to Kumjung and the following day to Phakding, before we find ourselves in Lukla and ready to fly back to Kathmandu for New Year's eve!
